Location:About 80 miles south of Chicago, 2 miles north and 3 miles east of Beaverville.
Facilities:Picnic areas, sanitary facilities, trails, dog training area, archery range, shooting range, concession (during hunting season).
Activities:Hiking, hunting, archery, snowmobiling.
Special Features:The area exhibits some of the finest and most extensive prairie marsh,sedge meadow, and sand dune vegetation remaining in Illinois. Themajority of the area, 2,000 acres, is managed as a public hunting area(primarily permit pheasant hunting). The remainder is a dedicatednature preserve.
