Aian-Iuriakh

(in its upper reaches, the Aian-Petlia), a river in Magadan Oblast, RSFSR; the left tributary of the Kolyma River. Length, 237 km; drainage basin, 24,100 sq km. It takes its source in the slopes of the Khalakan Range and flows along the Nersk Plateau. Fed by rain and snow, the river freezes over in October and breaks up in late May.
