Jarama
Jarama
a river in Spain, a right tributary of the Tagus. The Jarama is 190 km long and drains an area of 11,000 sq km. It rises in the Sierra de Guadarrama and flows over the New Castille Upland. The mean flow rate is approximately 50 cu m per sec, with the river carrying a greater quantity of water in the winter. There are reservoirs in the Jarama basin. Water from the river is used for irrigation.
