Izium Road

Izium Road

one of the main roads used by the Crimean Tatars for their raids on Russia from the 16th to the 18th century. It began in the upper reaches of the Orash River (a left tributary of the Dnieper), where it separated from the Murav Road. It then crossed the Severskii Donets through the Izium Ford. It again merged with the Murav Road in the area between the upper reaches of the Psel, Vorskla, Severskii Donets, and Oskol rivers.
