Izhevskie Mineral’nye Vody
(Izhevsk Mineral Waters), a balneological (primarily water-drinking) health resort located in the plains of the Tatar ASSR on the right bank of the Kama River (at the Izhevskii Istochnik landing), 300 km from Kazan and 60 km from the Siuginskaia railroad station. The summer is warm (with an average July temperature of 20°C), and the winter is moderately cold (with an average January temperature of – 14°C); precipitation amounts to approximately 450 mm annually. The mineral water has the chemical composition (well no. 12)
and is used for drinking and is also bottled; other medical treatments include mud baths (using peat mud from the Varzi-Iatchi spa). Patients with diseases of the digestive organs and metabolic disorders are treated there. The resort has a sanatorium and facilities for mud baths.
