A Tokyo suburb, it has ironworks, textile mills, and breweries.Kawaguchi a city and port in Japan, on the island of Honshu, in Saitama Prefecture; a northwestern suburb of Tokyo. Population, 306, 000 (1970). There is foundry industry, transportation machine building, production of machine tools, construction of motor vehicles and engines, and electrical engineering industry (heavy electric machine building and production of household appliances).
