Issledovatel

(Research Range), a mountain range of the subarctic Urals, on the border between the Komi ASSR and Tiumen’ Oblast of the RSFSR.

Issledovatel’ Range is 175 km in length, the highest point being Mount Narod (1, 894 meters), and is composed of crystalline schists, quartzites, and igneous rocks. There are active glaciers. On the peak and slopes are mountain wasteland and tundra, and at the bases of the mountains and in the deep river valleys are taiga forests.
