Location:On the western edge of the Black Hills between Sundance and Moorcroft, within sight of Devil’s Tower. Access is via Pine Ridge Road, 8 miles off I-90.
Facilities:170 tent and trailer campsites, restrooms, picnic area and shelters, Volksmarch trail, swimming beach, boat ramp, boat dock, marina, motel, dam, playground (é).
Activities:Camping, boating, fishing, swimming, water-skiing, snowmobiling, bird watching, hunting (with restrictions).
Special Features:Nearly 225 species of birds can be observed in and around the park. During the summer, the most abundant species include the white pelican, osprey, common yellowthroat, and Savannah sparrow. Winter birds include bald eagles, red and white-breasted nuthatches, and red crossbills. A bird checklist is usually available from the park office.
