Poisoning caused by contact with ink. Many are forms of dermatitis caused by several types of materials. Ordinary ink may cause irritation because of its composition or because of a person's sensitivity to certain ingredients in the ink. Sometimes cleaning materials used to remove ink stains are toxic. Symptoms of ink poisoning include redness, pustule formation, and cracking of the skin.

First Aid

The area should be washed with alcohol, soap, and water. It then should be rinsed carefully and covered with a bland dressing such as cold cream.
