International Organization for Standardization n (Units) an association composed of representatives of several national standards bureaus, founded in London in 1947 and based in Geneva, Switzerland, that establishes and maintains international standards for units of measurements, clothes sizes, technical terminology, etc. Abbreviation: ISO International Organization for StandardizationA worldwide federation of national standards bodies from some 100 countries, one from each country.
