2,3-bisphosphoglycerate mutase 2,3-bis·phos·pho·glyc·er·ate mu·tasean enzyme of the Rapoport-Luebering shunt; it catalyzes the reversible interconversion of 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate to 2,3-bisphosphoglycerate; it also has a phosphatase activity, converting 2,3-bisphosphoglycerate to orthophosphate and 3-phosphoglycerate; a deficiency of 2,3-bisphosphoglycerate mutase can result in mild erythrocytosis. |
