(ēmä`bärē), city (1990 pop. 123,114), Ehime prefecture, N Shikoku, Japan, on the Hiuchi Sea. It is a commercial and fishing port and a manufacturing center with industries producing cotton textiles and food products.

Imabari is one of the centers for the textile industry (primarily the production of cotton thread and cloth, including flannel). A large flour combine is located there.
