IL28B IL28B A gene on chromosome 19q13.13 that encodes interleukin-28B, an immunomodulatory cytokine which upregulates MHC class-I antigen expression. It has potent antiviral activity and has antitumour activity. IL28B is a ligand for the heterodimeric class-II cytokine receptor composed of IL10RB and IL28RA, which is thought to act via the JAK-STAT pathway. Difference between the two isoforms of IL28 (IL28A and IL28B) remains unclear. |
