Honjo Eijiro

Honjo Eijiro

 

Born Nov. 28, 1888, in Kyoto. Japanese scholar; specialist in social and economic history. Member of the Japanese Academy of Sciences.

Honjo graduated from the economics department of the University of Kyoto in 1913, becoming a docent in 1918 and a professor in 1923. He headed a Japanese institute of economic history for many years. Honjo is the author of numerous works on the history of Japan’s economy and on economic studies.
