a graph of the variations of water discharge over a period of time in a river during a year or part of a year (season, floodtime, high water). A hydrograph is constructed from data on the daily water discharge at an observation point. The amount of water discharge is plotted on the axis of ordinates and the time segments are plotted on the axis of abscissas.
