Hall, J. C. Hall, J. C. (Joyce Clyde)(1891–1982) greeting card manufacturer; born in David City, Nebr. A teenage entrepreneur, he was soon selling his "Hallmark" brand greeting cards nationwide from his Kansas City headquarters. Hallmark pioneered independent display racks, special occasion cards, and decorative gift wrap and by 1953 was the largest greeting card company in the world. With a reputation for running one of the firms in America most favorable to employees, he retired as Hallmark's president and CEO in 1966. |
