Hürthle cell

A large granular cell found in pathological sections in some thyroid diseases.

Hürthle cell adenoma

An adenoma of the thyroid that contains mostly eosinophil-staining cells. It is occasionally found in Hashimoto thyroiditis.

Hürthle cell tumor

A benign or malignant tumor of the thyroid gland. The cells are large and acidophilic.
