Location:In Homosassa Springs, 75 miles north of Tampa, on US 19.
Facilities:Picnic area, nature trails, visitor center, exhibits, restaurant, snack bar, gift shops.
Activities:Hiking, wildlife viewing, birding, educational programs, boat tours.
Special Features:Park showcases native Florida wildlife, including manatees, blackbears, bobcats, white-tailed deer, American alligators, Americancrocodiles, and river otters. Visitors can view the manatees year-roundfrom an underwater observatory in Homosassa's main spring. Snakes andother native animals are featured at Wildlife Encounter programs and atthe park's Reptile House and Children's Education Center. The park alsofeatures wading birds, birds of prey, and songbirds.
