Grigoriopol

an urban-type settlement in Dubossary Raion, Moldavian SSR. Landing on the Dnestr River, 45 km northwest of Tiraspol’. Population, 8,000 (1970). The principal industry is wine-making. Grigoriopol’ also has a cannery. Fruit-growing and viticulture are well developed in the vicinity of the settlement.
