Griebe-Schiebe method

[′grē·bə ′shē·bə ‚meth·əd] (solid-state physics) A method of observing the piezoelectric behavior of small crystals, in which the crystals are placed between two electrodes connected to the resonant circuit of an oscillator, and tuning of the resonant circuit results in jumps in the oscillator frequency which produce clicks in headphones or a loudspeaker attached to the plate circuit of the oscillator.
