Hai Duong

a city in Vietnam, in the Hong Ha Delta, 30 km from Hanoi. Since 1976, capital of the province of Ha Shon Binh, which includes the former provinces of Hoa Binh and Ha Tay. Population, more than 200,000 (1974). Hai Duong is the center of a rice-producing and cattle-raising area. The principal industry is food processing.
