homonymic forms of words; words that are pronounced alike only in certain forms (of the same or different parts of speech). For example, Russian tri is the nominative and accusative case form of the numeral three and the second person singular imperative of the verb teret’, “to rub.” The word steklo, “glass,” is a noun in the nominative case singular; steklo, “(it) flowed (down),” is the neuter form of the past tense of the verb stech’, “to flow down.”
