Grepp, Olav Kyrre

 

Born Aug. 6. 1879, in Børn-nøysund, Helgeland Province; died Aug. 15, 1922, in Oslo. Leader of the Norwegian workers’ movement.

At the end of the 1890’s, Grepp joined the Norwegian Workers’ Party (NWP). In 1912 he was elected to its central committee, in which he represented the left, revolutionary wing of the party. In 1918 he became chairman of the NWR. Grepp was one of the founders of the Communist movement in Norway. In 1919–22 he was a member of the executive committee of the Communist International.
