Hypsiprymnodontinae

a subfamily of marsupial mammals of the family Macropodidae (kangaroos). The body is 23–33 cm long. The naked, prehensile tail is 13–17 cm long and has musk glands at its base. There is one genus, comprising a single species (musky rat kangaroo), which is found in Australia, in northern Queensland. The animal lives in dense thickets along riverbanks and the shores of lakes. It is herbivorous. Musky rat kangaroos reproduce once a year, bearing two young per litter. Their numbers are few.
