Haemanthus
Haemanthus a genus of perennial bulbous plants of the family Amaryllidaceae. The leaves are wide and oblong. The flowers are usually brightly colored and gathered in umbellate inflorescences. More than 50 species are found in tropical and southern Africa. Some species are grown in hothouses and rooms. The most popular species are H. coccineus with red flowers, H. katherinae with bright orange flowers, and H. albiflos with plain whitish flowers and pulpy strap-shaped leaves.
