Hadzapi

 

(also Kindiga, Tindiga), a people in Tanzania living to the west of Lake Eyasi. According to a 1973 estimate, the Hadzapi number approximately 1,000. They speak a Bushman language. The Hadzapi, who are descendants of the ancient inhabitants of southern Africa, still practice nature and ancestor worship. Their principal occupations are gathering, hunting, and fishing.
