Greenberg, Irving Greenberg, Irving(1933– ) rabbi, educator; born in New York City. A Harvard graduate, he earned a Ph.D. there in 1960. He was the rabbi of the Riverdale Jewish Center (New York) (1965–72). He taught history and Jewish studies at Brandeis University, Yeshiva University, and at the City University of New York (1972–79). In 1979 he became president of CLAL (the National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership) in New York. |
