Huggins, Miller James,

1878–1929, American baseball player and manager, b. Cincinnati. The diminutive "Mighty Mite" was a scrappy second baseman for the Cincinnati Reds (1904–9) and St. Louis Cardinals (1910–16). A switch-hitting lead-off batter, he was adept at drawing walks (1,002 overall) and stealing bases. Huggins also managed the Cards from 1913 to 1917.
