Hudson Bay Depression

Hudson Bay Depression

a flat swamped low-lying plain in Canada, on the southwestern shore of Hudson Bay. Elevation up to 200 m. It is made up of Ordovician and Silurian sedimentary rocks and Anthropogenic sea drift. The climate is subarctic. Rocks that are frozen for many years are widespread. The vegetation is swampy, and along the valleys of rivers (Churchill, Nelson, Severn, and others) there are willow shrubs. Population is sparse. Polar Bear Provincial Park is located there (for the conservation of polar bears, seals, walruses, arctic foxes, caribou, ptarmigan, snow geese, and northern geese).
