Hauki

 

(Finnish, Haukivesi), a lake in southeastern Finland, in the Saimaa lake system. Hauki Lake has an area of approximately 600 sq km and a maximum depth of 58 m. Connected by channels with other lakes in the system, it has a winding shoreline and many islands. The lake is navigable, and there is fishing in its waters. The city of Savonlinna is situated on its southeastern shore, and the city of Varkaus is on the northwestern shore.
