Bacow, Lawence Seldon,
1951–, American educator and lawyer, b. Detroit, S.B. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1972, J.D., M.P.P. Harvard, 1976, Ph.D. Harvard, 1978. Bacow was on the faculty at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1977 to 2001, where he also served as faculty chair and chancellor, then was president of Tufts Univ. until 2011. In 2011 he became head of Harvard's graduate school of education (until 2014) and its Kennedy School of Government's Center for Public Leadership.
