Ibn Zafar, Muhammad Ibn Abu Muhammad Alsiqilli

 

Born in Mecca; died in 1169 or 1172 in Kama. Arab writer and philologist. Ibn Zafar lived in North Africa, Sicily, and Aleppo. His main work is the didactic anthology in prose Consolations of a Ruler in the Face of Hostility from His Subjects, of which two versions by the author are known (1150 and 1159). Ibn Zafar was the first in Arabic literature to use the story form with imaginary characters to narrate actual historical events.
