A symptom complex that follows abrupt withdrawal from baclofen (Kemstro, Lioresal), a GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) antagonist used to manage spinal spasticity.Clinical findings
Hallucinations (auditory, visual and tactile), confusion, agitation, delirium, disorientation, fluctuation of consciousness, insomnia, memory impairments, anxiety, depersonalisation, hypertonia, psychosis, mania, mood disturbances, restlessness, behavioural disturbances, tachycardia, seizures, tremors, autonomic dysfunction, hyperpyrexia, extreme muscle rigidity resembling neuroleptic malignant syndrome and rebound spasticity.
