Gravity Seed Cleaner

The gravity seed cleaner is equipped with an inclined work surface. The smooth round particles of a seed mixture roll straight down the incline, whereas all rough particles are retained and redirected toward a waste area. Gravity seed cleaners feature different types of moving (belt, roller, drum) or stationary working surfaces. The working surface of a belt-type gravity seed cleaner is an endless belt made of fabric or rubber drawn tight across two rollers. A roller-type gravity seed cleaner consists of two revolving cylinders located one above the other, each covered with napped fabric. A drum-type gravity seed cleaner is equipped with inclined revolving wooden plates. The nonmoving working surfaces of a gravity seed cleaner are inclined wooden panels. Gravity seed cleaners are used to clean fine fragments of stalks and clumps of earth from beet seeds; cornflowers, rye grass, and maple peas from flax; and wild oats from oats. A gravity seed cleaner’s productivity ranges from 100 to 120 kg of seed per hour.
