释义 | Harvey, E. NewtonHarvey, E. (Edmund) Newton(1887–1959) cell biologist; born in Philadelphia. He taught physiology at Princeton (1911–56), while concurrently traveling the world as a visiting lecturer. During World War II, he made important contributions to studies of decompression sickness and wound ballistics. He made major advances in the fields of neurophysiology and cell regeneration but is most noted for his pioneering research on bioluminescence in plant and animal cells. |
