单词 | huysmans, cornelis |
释义 | Huysmans, CornelisHuysmans, Cornelis(kōr`nālĭs hois`mäns), 1648–1727, Flemish painter of landscapes and religious subjects. Most of his life was spent in Malines. His landscapes, painted with a broad brush, are rich in warm, dark tones; he emulated the coloring of the Venetians. His works may be seen in many important European museums. The Metropolitan Museum has two landscapes. His brother and pupil, Jan Baptist Huysmans, 1654–1716, landscape painter, was less skillful in his imitation of the Venetians. Examples of his few surviving works are in the museums of Brussels and Antwerp. |
