Holoblastic Eggs
Holoblastic Eggs
eggs that undergo total cleavage during their development, in contrast to meroblastic eggs, which undergo partial cleavage. Holoblastic eggs are characteristic of the majority of invertebrates (except cephalopods and most arthropods), such vertebrates as lampreys, lung-fish, Holostei, and cartilaginous ganoid fishes, the majority of amphibians, and almost all mammals.
