Drugs that cause widening of arteries (vasodilatation) by blocking the action of adrenaline-like hormones. They include DOXAZOCIN (Cardura), INDORAMIN (Baratol), PRAZOCIN (Hypovase) and TERAZOCIN (Hytrin). Overdosage causes a severe drop in blood pressure, a fast pulse, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea, a dry mouth, flushed skin, convulsions, drowsiness and coma.
