Indiga

 

a river in the Nenets National Okrug, Arkhangelsk Oblast, RSFSR. It measures 193 km long and drains an area of 3,790 sq km. The Indiga flows through the Malozemel’skaia Tundra and empties into the Indiga Bay of the Barents Sea. In its upper reaches it has rifts and rapids and in its lower reaches, a slow current and a broad floodplain. The river is fed mainly by snow. It freezes in late October and early November; the ice breaks up in May. It is navigable for 25 km during high tide.
