Any of the community health services provided by health visitors, the purpose of which is health promotion, illness prevention and health surveillance.
 
Clients served
Women (prenatal and postpartum), pre-school and schoolchildren, young adults, the middle aged and elderly, and people with specific diseases.
Services provided
Structured programmes—e.g., child development surveillance, immunisation, health promotion, contact-tracing for infections, and various ancillary services (e.g., infant feeding advice).
