Hart, Doris,
1925–2015, American tennis player, b. St. Louis, Mo. One of the outstanding tennis stars of the 1950s, Hart won her first Grand Slam title in women's doubles at Wimbledon in 1947 and from then until 1955 she won 35 Grand Slam titles, 6 in women's singles, 14 in women's doubles, and 15 in mixed doubles. In 1951 she won all three events at Wimbledon; she later did the same at the French (1952) and U.S. (1954) championships.
