Gurevich, Isai Izrailevich
Born June 30 (July 13), 1912, in Riga. Soviet physicist. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1968). Member of the CPSU since 1951.
Gurevich graduated from Leningrad University in 1934. From 1934 to 1945 he worked at the Radium Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, and since 1945 at the I. V. Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy. His main work has been in neutron physics, reactor theory, and the properties of muonium. He discovered the phenomenon of the two-frequency precession of muonium in a magnetic field.
