Harris, Lou Harris, (Louis) Lou(1921– ) public opinion analyst; born in New Haven, Conn. He worked with Elmo Roper as a political pollster for ten years before founding Louis Harris and Associates (1956), a New York City firm that became known for its sophisticated qualitative public opinion polls for industrial and political clients. He was associated as a pollster with President John F. Kennedy's administration and with CBS and ABC News (1962–80); he also wrote a syndicated newspaper column (1963). |
