Holliday Lake State Park
Location:Accessible via State Route 24 (between Appomattox and US 60), and Routes 626 and 692.
Facilities:30 campsites (all with water and electric hookups), lodge, showers, toilets, picnic area, picnic shelters, snack bar, hiking trails, aquatic trail, swimming beach and bathhouse, boat launch, boat rentals, visitor center, playground.
Activities:Camping, boating (electric motors only), fishing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Park features 150-acre Holliday Lake, which is good for fishing. The area encompassing the park was cleared in the 1800s for farmland, then bought back by the government to return it to its hardwood forest state. Traces of family cemeteries can still be found in the area.
