HTLV-1 induced lymphoproliferative syndrome

A disease seen in persons infected with human T-cell leukemia-lymphoma virus (HTLV-1). The clinical signs are lymphadenopathy, hepatomegaly, splenomegaly, cutaneous infiltration with neoplastic T cells, hypercalcemia, lymphocytosis, and skeletal changes. Most of these patients develop T-cell leukemia.

Treatment

Patients are treated with combination chemotherapy. The median duration of remission is 12 months.
