Gulripshi

a seaside climatic health resort in the Abkhazian ASSR on the Black Sea, 12 km from Sukhumi. The climate is moist subtropical, with very mild winters (average January temperature, 6° C) and very warm summers (average July temperature, 24° C). The average annual precipitation is about 1,460 mm. From Sept. 15 to July 15, Gul’ripshi offers climatotherapy and treats patients suffering from active tuberculosis of the lungs in sanatoriums. There are vacation homes in Gul’ripshi.
