Harmonic Synthesizer
harmonic synthesizer
[här′män·ik ′sin·thə‚sīz·ər]Harmonic Synthesizer
a specialized computer for producing a complex function that is generated by the summation of simple sinusoidal functions that are multiples in frequency and that have various amplitudes and phases. It is used chiefly in laboratory investigations to analyze complex systems having many oscillation sources. Harmonic synthesizers differ with respect to the number of sinusoids summed and the maximum values of their amplitudes.
