Location:At the southern end of LA 1 in Jefferson Parish.
Facilities:49 premium campsites (all pull-through with water and electric hookups;1 @di), restrooms, picnic areas, beach and bathhouse, nature trail,observation tower, visitor center. The main fishing pier at Grand Islewas destroyed in Hurricane Katrina; construction of a new pier isexpected to be completed by 2008. In addition, all beach camping hasbeen curtailed to allow erosion damage from the storm to correctitself. The beach is still open for day use, however.
Activities:Camping, boating, fishing, swimming, crabbing, birdwatching.
Special Features:Park is located on a barrier island off the coast of Louisiana, in theGulf of Mexico. More than 280 species of fish are known to make theirhome in the waters off Grand Isle, and it's a great launching point fordeep-sea fishing.

Special Features:Park is located on the largest island on Lake Champlain, Grand Isle, which is about 14 miles long and three miles wide. It is also known as South Hero.
