Born circa 1909; died Sept. 29, 1951. Figure in the working-class movement of the Philippines.
Acook by profession, Capadocia in the late 1920’s became one of the leaders of the Union of Proletarians, a revolutionary trade union organization; in 1930 he was among the founders of the Communist Party of the Philippines. Capadocia spent the years 1931–37 in prison and exile. From 1937 to 1941 he was general secretary of the Communist Party, and from 1938 to 1941 he was executive secretary of the largest trade union confederation in the country, the Collective Labor Movement. From 1945 to 1950 he was vice-president of the Philippine Congress of Labor Organizations. In 1950 he fled Manila under threat of arrest and became a commander of the National Liberation Army units in the Visayan archipelago. Capadocia was killed in battle on Panay Island.
