immunodeficiency disorders

Any one of a number of congenital or acquired conditions in which the body's immunological system of defence against infection, foreign material and some forms of cancer, is defective. Immunodeficiency may be of genetic origin, may be IATROGENIC or may be caused by infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) that has led to the development of AIDS.
